The Challenge
Booking a flight should feel simple. Users must compare prices, flight times, layovers, baggage rules, and numerous other details before they feel ready to book. For Skyra, the challenge wasn't just to build another booking app; it was to design an experience that helps users make faster decisions with AI-powered guidance.
The Problem
-
1
Decision Fatigue
Users spent too much time comparing similar flights before making a booking.
-
2
Confusing Trade-Offs
Choosing between lower prices, shorter travel times, or better comfort wasn't easy.
-
3
Limited Intelligent Guidance
Most platforms relied on manual filtering instead of helping users match their preferences.
-
4
Crowded Interfaces
Crowded screens and complex layouts made important information harder to find.
Project Objectives
-
Reduce Booking Stress
Simplify the booking experience so users choose the right flight without unnecessary steps.
-
Highlight Better Flight Options
Use AI-powered recommendations to surface the flights that best match a user's needs.
-
Build Trust Through Transparency
Make pricing, travel details, and recommendations easy to scan and compare.
-
Keep the Experience Focused
Remove unnecessary distractions and simplify every screen so it is easier to navigate.
User Research
Good design starts with understanding users. Before sketching screens or defining user flows, we explored how travelers searched for flights, compared options, and made booking decisions. Those insights became the foundation of Skyra's user experience.

Information Architecture
We simplified the booking journey to make the entire experience clearer and easier to follow. Every screen moves users one step closer to booking.
Before Redesign
-
Comparing similar flight options took longer than it should have.
-
Users had to compare prices, schedules, and layovers manually.
-
Crowded screens made important details harder to find.
-
Limited filters forced users to refine their search again and again.
-
Traditional platforms left users hesitant before booking.
After Redesign
-
AI recommends the best flight based on price, route, and travel time.
-
The guided booking flow removes unnecessary decisions.
-
A cleaner interface makes important information easier to find.
-
Flights are easier to compare by price, duration, and schedule.
-
Clear visuals help users book with confidence.
Wireframing
We created low-fidelity wireframes to test layouts, user flows, and key interactions before designing the final interface. We also planned AI interactions early to simplify the journey from search to payment.
Home & Search Wireframe
Key Decisions
-
Place the flight search where users see it immediately.
-
Use a card-based layout to make destinations easy to scan.
-
Provide quick access to popular destinations and weather
Flight Selection Wireframe
Key Decisions
-
Simplify seat selection with a visual seat map.
-
Progressive disclosure of flight details and dates
-
Guide users through checkout with clear confirmation steps.
Boarding Pass & Details
Key Decisions
-
Prioritize essential travel information for quick access.
-
Present boarding passes in a clean, scannable format.
-
Store tickets offline so travelers can access them anytime.
Visual Identity
We focused on clarity from the very first screen. Lato keeps the interface clean and easy to read, and the blue-and-white palette creates a sense of trust and consistent look throughout the booking journey.
