The Challenge
Health apps collect a wide range of medical data, but raw numbers alone don't help people understand their health. The challenge is presenting it in a way that patients can easily understand and healthcare providers can review quickly.
The Problem
-
1
Medical Data Needed More Context
Raw health metrics were difficult to understand without meaningful explanations.
-
2
Disconnected Health Information
Related health metrics were separated across the app. Users couldn't easily see the full picture.
-
3
Complex Medical Interfaces
Crowded dashboards made it difficult to focus on key health information.
-
4
Limited Predictive Insights
Most health apps focus on current data instead of helping users recognize patterns over time.
Project Objectives
-
Simplify Health Data
Present medical information in a way that's easier to understand and use.
-
Bring Health Data Together
Keep all information in one place and create one connected experience for patients and doctors.
-
Improve Readability
Design a clean interface that makes health information easier to review.
-
Actionable AI Insights
Present AI-powered cardiac and brain insights that support better health decisions.
User Research
Before designing the app interface, we studied existing health platforms to understand how users interacted with medical data. We explored how they monitored their health and what information mattered most before shaping the data visualization flaws.

Information Architecture
We organized health data, AI insights, and daily wellness activities into a clear information architecture that makes the app easier to navigate and important information easier to find.
Before Redesign
-
Health data was difficult for many users to understand.
-
Raw medical data confuses average daily users and lacks clear explanations.
-
Patient information was spread across different platforms.
-
Symptom checkers provided answers but little guidance or reassurance.
-
Complex interfaces frustrate users during health assessments.
After Redesign
-
AI insights explain patterns instead of showing raw numbers alone.
-
Users can ask health questions through a conversational AI assistant.
-
The system connects real-time health data directly to doctor bookings.
-
A clean interface and soft animations create a calming digital environment.
-
Personal health records stay organized and securely stored in one place.
Wireframing
We used low-fidelity wireframes to shape the app's structure before moving into visual design. We also incorporated 3D human models to give health data more context and make the experience easier to understand.
User Vitals Dashboard
Key Decisions
-
Show key health metrics as soon as users open the app.
-
Use a card-based layout to organize health data into easy-to-scan sections.
-
Keep the primary action button within easy reach on the home screen.
Smartwatch Glance & Detail View
Key Decisions
-
Sync health data smoothly between the watch and the app.
-
Track sleep stages directly from the watch.
-
Display heart rate variability with detailed charts and trends.
Mental Wellbeing & AI Companion Chat
Key Decisions
-
Keep conversations organized with a clean, easy-to-follow layout.
-
Make AI guidance feel like a natural conversation.
-
Show related health insights without interrupting the conversation.
Visual Identity
We paired Helvetica Neue with a fresh, high-contrast color palette to improve readability and help important health information stand out without adding visual noise.
