The Challenge
Before Vyniq, it was hard to track the performance of smart vacuum cleaners because the data was scattered. This made maintenance errors a commonplace in household vacuuming.
The Problem
-
1
Cluttered Visuals
Dense interfaces hid important battery and water tank statistics.
-
2
Disconnected Insights
Complex data points confused users during the quick check-ins.
-
3
Poor Readability
Badly designed icons made performance hard to grasp.
-
4
Stressful Tracking
Constant appliance alerts created a chaotic user experience.
Project Objectives
-
Centralize Appliance Data
Connect all vacuum statistics into a single tracking dashboard.
-
Simplify User Actions
Provide clear visual indicators for cleaning progress.
-
Improve Data Legibility
Use striking typography to make the system health easily scannable.
-
Promote Calm Maintenance
Replace chaotic alerts with actionable notifications.
User Research
We thoroughly researched the smart home sector. Our team also talked with everyday users to identify different frictions so we could design a user-friendly web app.

Frustrations
-
Web platforms displayed tiny, illegible text for water levels.

Portals required too much time and manual input.
Goals
-
Read appliance data instantly without eye strain.
-
Operate a dead-simple mobile interface.
-
Check progress quickly and get back to actual work.
Information Architecture
In this step, our job was to reorganize the whole structure of the platform to make it simpler and easier to operate. To be precise, we reduced the number of steps on the menu and grouped cleaning tools into simple categories.
Before Redesign
-
Cluttered visual layouts hid essential vacuum performance data
-
Confusing icons frustrated users during daily cleaning routines
-
Fragmented data points obscured battery life and filter health
-
Massive data volumes made overall system status hard to grasp
-
Chaotic interfaces created stress instead of utility
After Redesign
-
Clean visual layouts present real-time cleaning progress instantly
-
Users track energy use and system health without effort
-
Color-coded cards organize massive data into calm visuals
-
The interface turns raw information into actionable cleaning tasks
-
The optimized dashboard secures a 60% user satisfaction rating
Wireframing
Before adding new visual details, we felt it necessary to build low-fidelity wireframes to map out the structure. We did that to ensure it met the expectations of daily users.
